Megadeath rocks in my book, but I have simple music tastes.

Yes, I know I missed Blind Guardian in there, and also that the newer albums of CoB really sucks, but thats a list of some of my favorites, I forgot to include Death, Iced Earth, Slayer, Kreator(I know those two are very well known by everyone), Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Motorhead, Cannibal Corpse, Nocturnal Rites, Shadow Gallery, Warmen, Ministry, Dream Theater, Hipocrisy and some more.

Your taste in metal is poor, those two are on the crap level of Trivium .

I can't see the hate for either of those really. Arch Enemy are just bog standard melodeath and LoG is the same old Pantera-esque tough guy groove we've seen ever since the 90s.

Generic, yeah. Boring, perhaps. But I don't see the reasons for singling them out compared to some of the others on that list.

The state I live in is full of: "I listen to Lamb of God, Metallica, and other typical angry guy bands" kind of people that are always talking about them so I have a particular distaste for them.

I guess. Down here its more the deathcore/metalcore guys who cop that flack (and I say this as someone who actually likes a lot of modern hardcore, brutal death and melodeath. I just can't stand most metalcore and deathcore for some reason), probably due to our core scene being fuckhuge compared to even the casual metal listeners.

One of my friends was telling me to try out Between the Buried & Me..

I guess I like how technical the lead guitarist is, but the rest of it doesn't really suit my tastes

As a genre, it sucks. That being said, my brother suggested I listen to Cuatro Gatos, absolutely love them, El Sueño de la Razón is a great album, Cruce de Caminos is definitely my favorite song.

Most of us have been trying to forget about Attack Attack! and all the equally crappy synthy metalcore bands they've inspired. When you're getting unfavourable comparisions to Brokencyde, something has gone horribly wrong with your music.

They've done some pretty good covers, "Die With Your Boots On" (Iron Maiden) and "I Want Out" (Helloween) are both fucking awesome, but their cover of "Fade To Black" (Metallica) is embarrasing to listen to. You should try out Insania and Theocracy (christian Power Metal) GareJei, I think you'd like both of those bands.
i couldnt agree more i sing stuff like helloween i want out that is my second all time fav band and the vocalist from the helloween keeper of the seven keys era is my fav my all time power metal vocalist mickael kiske by the way im in a neo classical/power metal band
