    Default Questions On VBulletin.

How hard is it to create VBulletin? I'm trying to create one, and found out it's PHP. Well, I know basic HTML, but will that help for most of it? If I worked with InvisionFree Forums, is it somewhat like that, or is VBulletin made from scratch? Thanks guys, cause this seems quite hard.

I know I may find these answers elsewhere, but I need user opinions.

PS. Sprung, you might wanna unsticky that other thread then. I posted there cause it was stickied, not merged.

very hard thats why it costs hella lot money lol. i mean you need 99.9% proof security (100 is impossible) and there are so much ifs and elses. (sometimes i think php only has if and else lol )

What do you mean "make a vbulletin"? You have to buy it from www.vbulletin.com and install it on your own server. It costs money though, which is pretty much the only drawback.

Vbulletin is extremely easy to install and set up, It's managament and coding skins and shit that is the hard part. Paying for it is not some just simple shit, though. But generally, it's pretty easy software to play with.

Yeah. No way I have the skills to make it from scratch. I'm just wondering is it very hard to set it up. I can buy skins and stuff, so that isn't much of a problem. Thanks guys, for the response. Got me a better idea how it is.

k this is what you do:

Upload all the files, edit the config.php located in the /install/ directory, go to www.yoursite.com/vb/install/install.php. press next a few times. and its done

setting permissions is a little harder, but easy when you get the hang of it ^-^ have had like 12 forums, took me like 1 day to figure everything out

PHPbb works alright if you dont have a huge community where theres gunna be one dude thatll use the newest exploit to take it down heh. If you keep PHPbb updated though, it works alright.

Thanks a lot guys. If it's harder than Phpbb, than I'm getting it. If it's way harder, I'm not. I can deal with hard challenges. XD

So if I just want the forum, just make a cheap website, and upload it? One that supports it though. Well, I'll have to spend some money.

It's pretty easy to setup IMO. The instructions are very to the point and good. I'm sure installation will be a breeze once you get into it.
