    Default Problem with installing Directx.

    Im trying to dl the current version of DirectX, but it says a file neccessary for instalation cannot be trusted and then stops the instalation.

    What is the problem?

    sorry for the double post.

    I tryed dling it from the main microsoft site, to see if that would work. It didnt.

    I tryed other things also.

    I understand this isnt one simple thing, but can you help me none the lesser?

    You could have used the edit button.

    I remember having this problem when one of my service wasn't started (enabled). Lemme find which one it was and i'll make a reg patch to fix that.

    Edit:
    Ok i found which one. To enable it, go to Start->Execute. Type "services.msc" without the quotes.
    Find the service named "Cryptographic services" and right click it->Properties.
    Be sure the startup type is set to automatic. If not set it to automatic. Press ok, then right click "Cryptographic services" and select Start.

    If that doesn't help, i'll give you further instructions. I know this can also be due to a corrupted registry, or a not certified DirectX version.
    Oh yeah, be sure you downloaded DirectX from Microsoft and not else.

    Im highly suspecting the currupted thing. Any ideas on how to remedy that? Because it was allready on automatic.

    Try downloading DirectX from Windows Update. It worked with no problems from there for me and for other people experiencing that problem.
    Have you seen me before?
