Seem to have lost about 110 GB of data from my computer, when my secondary hard drive started ticking...I can't access it, and all of my Photoshop work, anime, games, utilities, ROMs, ISOs, and abandonware was on that. This is quite upsetting, considering I rather wanted to get some work done on my part of a mod for a game which was on that drive, and maybe make a new sig/avatar set for a different forum.
I've had to go through one last semester, my first one I may add, and it is very difficult if you are nervous, which I was, I'll say this, try to keep calm, bring some notes, anything really to do with it, so that you can hold onto and not be moving your hands around, (you will talk with your hands otherwise, unless you're one of teh 10% that don't) plus this helps you remeber what you are on about, they say you have to make eye contact to make yourself look professional during this which I could not do, if you do try to not concentrate on anyone person look at everyone so that you don't start thinking what that person may be thinking, I hope this helps

Hi Zephyr,
theres a thread about HD recovery here in the Computer Tech subforum. The first 4 posts are relevant but a bit vague.
I wouldnt know where to start getting your files back, but i can say to consider the many options available to you (like contacting a professional for example), before taking any rash actions that might irrevocably damage your HD.
Take it easy.

Theo: Thanks for the tips. I haven't been able to figure out why I'm so afraid, though; that's the real killer. I even took a speech class once, to try and confront it head on. With good notes, eye contact, and all of those usual tips, I could still barely manage to restrain myself from running out of the room in a complete panic. At least I've never passed out before in front of a class, but I must say that after that class, I've been doing my best to avoid any such situation.

aldebaran: Well, my father's an expert, so I told him what was happening. It's a calibration error of some sort, and the drive will not read anymore. The PC can see it exists, but nothing more than that, much less read any data or, as they warned against on the thread you linked to, format. So, there goes every PS work I've done in the last 5 years, as well as most of my ROMs, my Ayutthaya game in AGC-EEP EU2 where I managed to beat back China, some irreplacable source images, and my best SC4 game ever. Everything else is replacable...eventually. I think I will try to bring it to a few places, to see what can be done, though. You never know, and the PS work in particular is important to me.

I'm going to buy some stuff on-line using my friend's credit card. I want these things so badly that I'm willing to use my friend's credit to pay for it, especially when they don't accept money orders. However, I'm so hesitant to find a better bargain, which is more or less a catch-22 or a paradox because these offerings for the items in particular are the only "bargains" available.

I'm too lazy to clean out my hard drive again.

Same here. That and drinking. Two vices that don't benefit me in the least.
