GTA, GTA2 and Wild Metal have all been released as "limited" freeware. You can't mirror the files or give copies away, but they're free to download legally from http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/

Cube is a free FPS with some interesting realtime mapping features: http://wouter.fov120.com/cube/

The Marathon Trilogy from Bungie. Halo was supposed to have been Marathon 4 before M$ took over the rights. This can be a bit hard to get working but is certainly doable. These work best on Mac, but Windows and Linux ports are 95% done and 100% playable.

That is from my second to oldest website. It is hosted by old ISP but seems to be still there despite we changing the ISP long time ago. As that is old, it still has only Finnish language, but you might see the download link there. The game is also in Finnish, and it doesn't necessarily work on all systems. For some reasons it gives VESA 2.0 error with some video card drivers that should support it.

If there is much inquiries, I would make an improved version with English language as well :O

Soldat isn't free, but you can play it for free legally, so... get it now if you still haven't! How long has the Emuparadise Soldat server been away? I remember EP having its own Soldat server sometime, but I couldn't play on it because I had dial-up at home and in school there were firewall blocking the game.

Here's some more free FPS games, the CodeRED trilogy all are based off a modded version of the Quake 2 engine so the graphics are sometimes a bit dated, but they're all tons of fun.

What server are you on? Since it went free I've been keeping an account, don't have any high levels yet.

I'd suggest to anyone to try this out . Basic is completely free until sometime 2006 I believe. Download and all. No monthly fees! It's a very decent game, probably one of the better MMO's out there.

I tend to play Lineage 2 more but that's cause I pay for it

I know some free servers for other MMO's. Are those allowed to be posted here? Don't wanna break the rules .
