Question 2 PSX ISO related questions

Sorry if these has been answered before

Well, i'd like to know is there any PSX CD/ISO identifyer or renamer program, so when i download "somegame.iso" it would tell me if it's "Some Game US-NTSC.iso" or "Some Game EU-PAL.iso" or whatever related. And where to get it?

Secondly, I want to burn some ISOs to save HD space, but want to be sure that i'll eventually be able to play them on a real (modded or not) console when/if i get one later. So, can Nero burn the SUB files which come with the ISOs and how ? I had CloneCD before, but it installs some kind of a driver which i'd like to avoid having on my Win98 system.

Also, can i use CD-RWs to play on a real console, or at leas check if the burning method is fine ? (heh, that's a 3-rd question, thinked of it just after posting)

    Thanks in advance

    lol, pretty fast answer, but...
    what about using Nero ?
and about using CD-RWs for testing ?
didn't find anything on the links you provided
also i was asking for an app to provide exact game name, etc., not the method mentioned there.

    anyways, thanks

    questions remain, huh

Also if you're using ePSXe 1.5.2 emulator the debug window will tell you
if it's a PAL or NTSC ISO/Disc you're using when running the game.

First of all you wouldn't be able to play burned games on unmodded PSX unless
you use swap trick or gameshark (not sure about the second).
Nero can't burn other than .nrg files (well not the NERO I have installed).
Good solution will be "Alcohol120%" although it has time limitations it's a good burning
software. Second step of "Image burning wizard" will let you choose your file
to burn (SUB is not a file to select there are some of them .ccd, .cue, .mds, ...)

It's a bit tricky question. I don't have actual PSX but my friend told me that
in his situation CD-RW doesn't work or PSX laser have great difficulties of
reading it (well I think that's because of different structure of the CD-RW than CD-R).
But you can always use CD-RW to test if your burned games will work on emulator.

Well it's one of many, but I like it the best.

Of course not...well unless you select in the burning program to delete ISO files
    after burning.
And BTW SUB is a file that contains info about audio in the ISO so it's needed
for burning but it's not the file that you select to use in burning software.
Alcohol120% aswell as other programs let you only select files that are ISO's
themselves or contain info about the compilation (sesion) but SUB file is used
    also

Well I hope I haven't told it in cryptic way.
Good luck on burning your ISO's.

That's what i asked about. I mean, if the SUB file gets burned together with the ISO or the burning apps don't use it at all.

    Thanks. Helped me a lot

    Not a problem
Glad you understand my cryptic speech lol

And the SUB file is used only to decrypt information about sounds in the ISO
    compilation (CDDA mostly).
