what causes thermite to burn involves the aluminum drawing the oxygen out of the iron oxide, and igniting it. its a big chemical thing, but suffice it to say, thermite is completely inert until lit. i dont see how it could be use as batteries. and norgus, i did see the trademark, but i found it funnier to ignore it.

looking at the design... i wouldnt like to have both my eyes covered by that screen thing. if done on actual terrian, if the sensors missed something like a slight dip or a rock, root, etc, it could be dangerous. and if simuated terrainm used on a flat surface, well... you try walking up a hill that isnt there. so the only option i could safely see would be simulated flat terrain on flat terrain, and most battlefields, even uraban envionments, arent consistently flat.

I won't give up hope until the holodeck from Star Trek becomes a reality.

I know, I know, Star Treks for spongs but lets face it, virtual reality is so much more fun than reality, as demonstrated by Riker in some unknown episode where theres some fake slut in a red dress who he makes up. Well, I would have done at any rate.

    Nanoo, nanoo...and all that.

He wasnt, but nanoo nanoo is recognised geek-speak, so I felt the urge to utilise it in the post above. For comedic effect, like.

Well, I was happy with it.
