The Beatles - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

More stuff I have to listen to for my history of Rock course. I like it, though far from my favorite. On an unrelated note, wooh for LSD.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
    But its not sane..
I just want some one to say to me
Ill always be there when you wake
Ya know Id like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and Ill have it made
And I dont understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but its a great escape..
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...

Katatonia - Walking by a Wire

I personally don't find Viva Emptiness to be all that bad

    Heroes del Silencio - Oracin(Live)

In my search for more spanish speaking bands I found Heroes del Silencio. Really good rock band from spain. Been listening to ther best of(Canciones 1984 - 1996 I & II) for a while and I must say I really like it. Simple as that.

The Used - I Caught Fire (In Your Eyes)
    I like this song.

In your eyes I lost my place... I could stay a while and I'm melting in your eyes like my first time that I caught fire; just stay with me, lay with me now...

Yes! Yes! They fucking rule! It's like... my bro grew up listening to them, and saw their last live show before they split up. A shame that Bunbury(the frontman) now makes some boring tango-pop, but he still plays some HdS in live shows(my bro saw him live in NYC last month, seems to be popular in Latin/South America too).

Bunbury has an incredible voice. EVERYBODY here should give Heroes del Silencio a listen, no excuses, it's not metal.

    Barricada - (some song)

Great oldschool Spanish punk... very similar to Discharge, The Ramones, and Sex Pistols(most of all). They're still around...

The Kinks - All Day And All Of The Night

These guys were supposed to be really important or impactful or something. I guess so. But, both Kinks songs I have sound the same to me. I'm not terribly impressed. Not to say that they are not decent, but still, for something I've heard many times in the past, I'm not shocked it didn't stick.

The Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb

Regardless of the meaning of the lyrics, this song owns. I love just sitting and listening to it.

    Manowar - Dawn of Battle

I can't believe I haven't listened to this song previously. It's so damned awesome! Rifftastic, energetic, loud, and just pure and classically heavy! It's definately become one of my Manowar favs now.

    Bravery calls my name,
to the sound and the might.
    My sword will drink blood,
and I will fight, yes I will fight
    in the dawn of battle.
    Dawn of Battle!

I don't care if Manowar are a bunch of homophobic closet fags, they kick as much ass as they pound. Manowar will forever own your soul, for there is no other heavy metal band that has kicked ass so soundly across history.

Btw, Manowar are indeed the loudest band in the world, according to Guiness records. Eric Adam's voice reaches up to 139.5 decibles... enough to distort your hearing for a while if you're close enough. My favorite HM singer... I even prefer him over even Rob Halford or Dickinson.

Now how the hell am I going to sleep...

The chorus is awesome, love that melody. Too long though...

    K-Os - Emcee Murder.
Basically this songis about how rapper loses his integrity once he gets signed to a major record label and get A&R's and that shit. Needless to say, he's on an independent label.

He's one of the few non-metal artists from Norway I actually like. Two Way Monologue is a nice song.

    Tiamat - Gaia

... meh. I like the newer stuff much better.
