    agent smith.

ok, i didn't read everything, but i don't want to turn this into a flaming thread, because all i read is insult. normally i would go beserk, but today is the day that i got my new video card to play cs-sources, so i don't have time. as i said before, if you don't agree with halo2 coming out early, then don't bitch about it, go somewhere else and bitch. i know you have plenty of time to go and find every sentence and bitch about it, but i don't, i have many other things to do. and you said i need a life, seriously, who quote every sentence and bitch about it.

finaly, i was just stating how i feel about the subject, and didn't insult anyone(unless you work for bungie, or is lapdog who is jealous of other for having it), you can disagree, but don't bitch at me like i just kill your family.

thank you, don't mean to spam, but if i don't answer, he would think that i have nothing to say. well good luck with gta5 and halo2, i know i will need it, its gonna be a busy weekend

See, what people don't realise is that this stuff can damage the industry. Look at half life 2. We would all be discussing the ending and releasing new maps for CS: Source right now if that hadn't been leaked. I doubted very much that they were going to completely redo the FINISHED version of HALO 2, or GTA: SA because of a leak, but if this had happened a few months ago with an incomplete copy, we might've had to wait until early 2005.

This is too much of a coincedence. The two biggest games of the year leaked together within a week. Something is wrong here.

That's why I'm paying for it. They deserve my money from this work of art.

Y'know, I don't imagine the two biggest games this year are going to be hit too severly by this, but I guess that's something we'll see in the coming weeks.

And before someone jumps on me, I'm not saying this was a good thing, and I'm not trying to smooth over it's impact. It's just that....I'm willing to bet that these two games are going to be huge, regardless of this.....

People who like to do this to a company who put countless days and thousand of dollars into this product disgust me. People say "oh they aren't losing that much money". Let's try this, eh? A game costs 50 dollars correct? 1 person leaks it. Thats 50 dollars from the company lost. Now he decides to distribute it across the net which....hmm...goes all over the world. Now you have 100,000 people download it and play it on their PS2/XBOX. Let's do the math now shall we? 50x100,000=5,000,000
That's now 5 Million dollars lost from that company's profit. Where's the good in that to such a "dedicated" fan? If you are so dedicated to this company wait for the damn game instead of making the company you are "so dedicated" to lose that much of a profit. Maybe I'm over exaggerating a bit with the number of people downloading it. But when it's distributed over the internet millions upon millions of people can see it. Wait for the damn game and buy it. That should be a "true" dedicated fan's choice. That's what I'm gonna do. I respect them for a wonderful project they spent their time on. Thanks, for reading this.

You have to be the most ignorant and retarded person ever. As Smith already said, A dedicated fan would not STEAL a game from the company they're supporting. This may sound a tad cliche, but put yourself in the shoes of a company who's LOSING money because of PIRATES like yourself. I doubt you'd be saying "Hey guys, lets stop being pussies about losing money. These guys are obviously dedicated fans. I mean, c'mon! They're so hardcore they stole the game before release!" Get a fucking grip loser.
EDIT: I should have read SJAW's post. He already said everything I wanted to say in a much better fashion.

I dunno. I think people should get off the fucking saopbox and get over themselves. This is obviously not a great thing that's been done here, but shit, we don't need the fucking moral-police act.

Anyway, as I said, I don't think Rockstar has too much to worry about here. Even though every copy downloaded is a potential sale down the tube, I'm pretty damned sure that this game is going to be huge regardless.
Oh, and again, lest anyone feel the need to jump at me immaturely, I'm not justifying anything that's been done here. It's just that.....with a game this big, it's going to sell millions of copies regardless. Now, if it were a game that didn't have so much hype driving it, then perhaps we'd have something to worry about....

EDIT: And the insults are both idiotic and unwarrented. If you don't agree with Domon, you can handle it in a far more civilized manner then that.

Even if the game is a big hit or not, that it's still a big potential profit lost. Which isn't fair. They deserve that money.

That's what I think. I'm not looking for a flame war.

Well, you missed my point. Sure, piracy means potential sales down the drain, which in turn screws them out of some money. But...with a game this big, they're still going to turn a HUUUUUUUGE profit. That's what I think. And I suppose this Tuesday, as well as the following weeks, will show wether or not that's the case.

And I've downloaded it, and yet I still fully intend to pick up my pre-order this Tuesday, which I've payed in full, BTW. So yeah.

EDIT: Oh, and perhaps you should all stop being such hypocrites. Noone raised a fuss when Paper Mario 2 was upped....
