Anyone have a complete MAME set .87?
Hi,
I'm looking for a complete set of MAME roms, however I cannot download from bit torrent. If you have it, I can give you FTP to my fast p4 2.8 ghz server. If you'd like I can give you access to all the roms I have from my server. I will also give you credit when I add the roms to my site if you'd like

Just to let you know, the full MAME set are around couple gigs so make sure you have fast connections. But I think BT is the best way to get them.

Yeah I know they are huge. However I am on a t3 line and I can't use bit torrent because of the proxy
And if anyone knows of an FTP with it, I can access it from FTP

Yeah, but even if your on a T3, who wants to kill his internet?
But how much roms are there in the Mame gooset. I got like ~2400, I dunno if it's the goodset. It's about 3.06Gb zipped. (not rared)
Edit->Forget that, the full romset is about 10Gb rared.

The full romset is 10.8 gigs or so I have it....

Ok so, i've uploaded about 6.41Gb on 10Gb this month
The ~2400 roms I got are 3.06Gb only compressed in zip's. I can compress them to one big rar file and then span them in 100mb parts for an easier, errorless transfer. I would include a 1% recovery record in it. The recovery record would be less than 30mb. I guess it would reduce it's size to about 2.5Gb overall. mmmmm, that's not so bad, I don't have any place left on my HD anyway, barely enough to extract an iso and burn it.
While at it, i'll check if all the files are compressed in zip to the max compression rate. Never know, I could gain a couple of mb's.
Edit->Huh, sadly enough they are compressed to the max ratio. awww.
2376 MAME roms, that's what I have. All in the same folder, only to kill XP explorer.exe.
Edit 2->If you want them all, you can always consider buying them on 8 DVD's for $28.90 US Dollars or less.

The prices aren't bad, 36$ CAD seems cool for 8 DVD's + All mame roms + CHD's + extras like cabinet pics and some other stuff. I think i'm gonna buy that before buying a GC or a Saturn or a new DC or a new sata hd or....
