Default What's your go on AlienWare?

I think AlienWare is the next best thing you want to get, as long as you have at least $2,000 on you... But still, it provides the most powerful systems you can buy.

just look at the comparisons to IBM's, It's no wonder....

    What's your say on it??

They charge way too much for what you get. A home custom built one would be way cheaper.

I guess these are okay if your a spoiled kid with rich parents, but if I was to spend this much on a computer I would make it myself. I just like to do it myself, get all the parts YOU choose.

I agree with all of you guys. The prices for them are a little too high. I would love to get one. But I have everything that has only my P4 HT isnt the extreme version. I could build the exact same thing for less. Even with a cooler looking case.

Anyone that knows how to use a screwdriver does not have to buy an Alienware. Its just a waste of money, so build your own!

Unless of course you want a high end laptop, which i would get from their

I pity anyone who purchases a system from Alienware. It means they have more money than sense of what to do with it. You can put together any system they have on there for about half the price they list it for. All it requires is some time to do some research and the patience to put it together yourself.

Its good stuff but way to expensive. Even if you don't know how to build a computer im sure you could have someone you know do it for you.

Same here. I would actually buy their laptops, but never their computers. I have the best computer I can have. With P4, 2.7ghtz, you can't go wrong...

Nope wouldn't spend money on their PC's. They are over-priced as obviously stated before me . I'm happy with what I got and I didn't have to pay a leg for it .

Brilliant computers, but ridiculously expensive. I'm in the process of upgrading my own system right now and it really is amazing how much money you can save when you build a PC yourself. I just need a decent graphics card, and even then I'll only have spent about 500 on the computer. The base unit would have cost me at least 800 if I'd bought it pre-assembled, and I'd still have a gotten quite a few sub-standard components in there. Building it yourself ensures that you get exactly what you want, and it also keeps the cost down because you're not paying some company to put it together and install expensive software that you don't even need.

It's just the satisfaction of saying "I have an alienware" that drove me to get mine. I was saving up for a long time, and I was NOT going to settle. I worked hard in every aspect of my life to scrounge up the money for the alx. I saved up 4000 dollars and since I got good grades in highschool my dad payed for the rest. I'm satisfied.

I have an alienware. I love it. Specs:
    2 P4 3.06ghz Processors
    512 RAM
    Radeon 9700
    DVD Drive
    CD Burner
    Creative SB Audigy

I love it. The motherboard failed like two months after I got it, they paid to have it shipped back, and they replaced it all for free. Im happy with them.

Note that many people with a sense of how not to screw up a computer will laugh at you. My computer is already about 2.5x more powerful than theirs and easily about $2,000 cheaper.
