Default Couple of issues with phpbb forum

Okay I am one of two admins to a new forum in phpbb there are a couple of issues that have popped up.

The first is that the forum seems to redirect to our websites main page after you log in (when it should probably go to the forum index). There are a couple of other situations. Where the same redirect hapens.

The second and just as important problem involves permissions and user groups. We want to make a group called 'Donators' and its obvious which people get this access. Anyway, Ive created the group and we have a forum we want only 'Donators' To be able to access.

When I look at the permission for the 'Donators only' forum its possible to allow different user groups different access, the mods, admins unregistered registered.. Bla bla. But it doesnt let me give access to the 'Donators' group, they don't even show up on the dropdown box.

    Thanks for your time

Sorted the redirect issue, it was being fussy about http:// and www. prefixes.

Any help with the group management and ownership problems is still welcome.

I think you solely have to edit which group gets to access certain forums. For each forum I think there is a list of which groups can access it. Just change it so donaters only can acccess it. I haven't used phpbb so I may be wrong.

Thats what we were trying to do, turns out it works if we use a ranking rather than a group. Thanks all the same.

Hopefully g33k (keithamus' and my webcomic) will become properly live soon and I'll link it in my sig.

Here are the steps mapped out.

    1) Go to Admin Panel > Forum Admin > Permissions
    2) Select the forum you only want certain members to view or post in, and look it up.
    3) In simple mode, select "Private." Submit
    4) Go to Admin Panel > Group Admin > Management
    5) Create a group and make yourself the moderator. This is the group which will contain the members who can view the private forum
    6) Go to Admin Panel > Group Admin > Permissions and look up the group you just created.
    7) Next to the forum that is private, select "Allow Access" in the drop-down box. Submit.
    8) On your main page of your forum, select "Usergroups" and go to the group you created. From that page, you can one-by-one add the members who can access this forum.
