    Default PSX Burning Issues

I'm having a weird problem with the burnt ISOs, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong since I'm retard when it comes to these stuff. Long story short, the CD-R isn't spinning when I try it in my PSOne. I don't think the burning process is the problem, afterall I'm burning it in Alcohol using the cue sheet while having the CD type set as Playstation. It runs pefectly if emulated. And yes, my PSOne is chipped.

Just in case, the CD-R's I'm using are DataLife brand. (yes, cheap ) And the ISOs I've tried are Vagrant Story and Xenogears.

I've searched around here and Google, but had no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

They aren't spinning at all? Or are they spinning, then suddenly spinning backwards? Clue me in, so I can try in vein to offer help.

It spins for a good 3 seconds then just stops. No spinning backwards or anything.. just stops.

Hmmn. That's odd. They work on your emulator, you say? I don't see any reason they wouldn't work on your PSOne, unless of course the things crapping out on you. Eh, sorry I couldn't be of help.

Afraid so. I ran it on an emulator off the CD and it worked.
    Well thanks anyway, Cyber.

Yeah, I've never run into this sort of issue. I've had the disks run in reverse when trying to do the manual swap, but that's usually fixed by using my Gameshark as a swap disk. The only other thing I could thing of is that it's a mod-chip compatibilty issue, but that's not likely. Again, I'm sorry. Hope you get the help you're looking for.

Do you own a Chipped, PAL PSone or an NTSC PSone?

Also have you tested with Import Player

Your PSone is chipped? (Silly Q but I have to ask it)

    Xenogears should just boot then
Vagrant Story may be the PAL version
Importplayer will help with problem boot games and play PAL games in NTSC mode aswell

You can get Import Player at http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_utils_bootcd.shtml
get the ImportPlayer Light v2.1 [US] one

    Heh.
Well I burned it, and tried it, but Import Player it self wouldn't load. But never mind, I tried the swap trick again with Vagrant Story and it almost worked. Got up to the first loading screen and it froze there. I'm sure I can get it to work if I got that far.
Thanks for the help you two. It is appreciated.

Try burning at the slowest speed you can or retune your laser

for the laser you need to open up you PSone and use the best fitting screw driver on the very small metal ajustable circle on the ribbon connected to the laser, it is located on the laser end of that ribbon.

do this very slowly if your turn it to far the laser will not read any CD but don't wory you can turn it back and everything will be as it was before

Wow. I'm not sure if someone like me could pull that. I'll try it if all else fails, since I'm not planning on breaking my PS any time soon. Thank you for all the tips and help, Zorlon.
