If anyone can do it these guys can: http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html
Though if you were to remove IE fully you would lose a lot of functionality from XP. Even simple stuff such as being able to change the wallpaper properly without it screwing with the icons (anyone here remember the pain fullscreen wallpaper was in 95?).
EDIT: You'll also lose the ability to open help files.

Also if you were to completely trash IE (and I mean everything) then regular My Computer wouldnt work. Regular Explorer used in windows navigation is based off of IE. But if you want to remove the browser only, uninstall it with the remove windows components wizard in the control panel\Add or Remove programs.
ahh...i see your point. Thanks

Lite 98 uses some IE options and stuff, but runs under some core benefits of 95 (Such as, no IE when you open My Computer)
It's worth a try, those guys that make Lite 98 know what they are up to, so they wouldn't sacrifice anything.
Why not just get the other browser and set it as the default one? It's not like IE takes up that much HD space...
Well I think the main thing is that IE is used for so many other things that browsing...but with newer windows you're basically SOL.
That's why I am trying to mess with NT4, but it won't install with win2k on C:
u can remove it but not fully it will make u unable to load internet explorer but it is still there if u know what i mean so it only like take away about 2mb of it
why not just install mozilla or netscape? and leave IE.
