    Default Need help burning xenosaga

Hi, I downloaded a double-layer dvd copy of xenosaga. I've researched how to make it 1 dvd(?) but I couldn't really understand the programs and the procedures and eventually messed up :\

If someone has time to give me STEP BY STEP instructions on how to make it fit on one dvd (or more as long as I can switch them)then please help me. Thanks.

As far as I know you gotta find yourself a rip... It'd be easiest to just buy yourself a copy, it's fecking $20 brand new everywhere. You can find a used one for $10.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Unless you know how to edit hex and all that, you're better off just buying a copy of the game, or as Ragnar suggested, seeking out a rip...

Doesnt matter even if you have a dual layer burner, Which I have DL media is still like 10 a piece cheaper just to buy the game or find a rip. Which I think SN has one

The forums wouldn't let me upload anything at all, thus my attempt to attach the file to this post and make the reading process more bearable/comfortable failed. So I had to go with copy&paste. Sorry to all those troubled. Anyway, read this and then re-consider your intentions. I'm not responsible for what's written there, let alone qualified to answer any questions regarding the whole process, since I'm not the author nor have I tested this on my own. Furthermore, you might have problems finding some of the tools and dll's mentioned in the tutorial. I'll have a look through my cd's and see if I can find them, that is if you really want to go through with it all, but apparently it seems like we are unable to attach/upload things to our posts anyway, so please, be patient. You might also consider getting the DVD5 release of XenoSaga Episode I, ripped and released by Kalisto (use Emule/Edonkey for that), which will fit on one DVD, though the movies were downsampled in order to accomplish that.
    -------------------------------------

Written by some dude whose name I don't remember who posted this on the ps2ownz.com forums. The thread doesn't exist anymore, though. (at least I can't seem to find it, for they went through a re-start AFAIK)

This is a tutorial to make a 3 disc DVD5 backup of Xenosaga. This does not cover how to
downsample the movies to fit the entire game on one dvd5. I believe part fo this tutorial
was originally posted by dnm, but was never finished. I used some of his previous work
and finished out the rest. I have partially tested all of the discs but greatly apprciate
    any feedback.

Swap Points: Disc 2 starts on the UTIC Battleship, and disc 3 starts at the Song of Nephilim.

Step 1: Make an ISO image (I use DVD Decrypter)

Step 2: Extract all files from the ISO using Sonix Editor. As usual thanks
    Sonix for the great progs.

Step 3: Remove the DVD9 check inside ORG_IOPRP24D.IMG (this modified
file will be used for all three discs):

    Offset Old New
    1E790 10 00
    1E792 40 43
    1E793 14 24
    1E794 02 01
    1E796 02 01
    1E7A2 00 41
    1E7A3 00 AE
    1E7A4 05 0B
    1E7A6 40 60
    1E7A7 18 14
    1E7A8 00 02
    1E7AA 00 02
    1E7AB 00 24
    1E934 2B 01
    1E935 18 00
    1E937 00 24
    21F5E C0 00

    Step 4: Make DVD1

4.1: Split Xenosaga.24 into two parts using master splitter or similar program
the first part (774455296 bytes) will not be used, The second part must be
    217702400 bytes.

4.2: Rename the second part Xenosaga.24 (of 217702400 bytes) to Xenosaga.21.

    4.3: Use dummy files for Xenosaga.22, Xenosaga.23, Xenosaga.24

4.4: Reindex LBA table XENOSAGA.20 (Make sure to keep an original of the file
    for the other discs)

    Offset New LBA value
    3CF 030000
    3DF FCCD00
    B04 3D9F01

4.5: Burn the disc using CD-DVDg1.5.

the game is LBA dependant and must be burnt accordingly which means that you will have to
use CD/DVD gen to burn or at least construct the ISO. If you have a pioneer anf v1.5 then
build the disc using the same values in the file tree list for the corresponding disc. If
you only have v1.2 then do this method provided by leering7 (thanks)

It will say "The recording Unit is not connected" and "Initialization failed" Click OK
to both. A new window will open up - $ony CD\DVD-ROM Recording Unit Controller
Click on File, Export Image and input a name and save it.
The files that are exported are iso img files (max 0.99GB in size) example: game.000,
game.001, game.002, etc After it haves create the image files, you need to start
DOS Prompt then go to the location where it stores the files called game.000,
game.001, game.002, etc files (upto 4.37GB) depends on the size from the game.
Then if you are at that directory enter this command inside DOS prompt:
    copy /b game.000 + game.001 + game.002 finalISO.iso,
now you will get a new image called finalISO.iso (of cource the command can be
longer but that will depend on how many game.000, game.001, game.002 files
it will output, so just make that command the maximum files on how big your game
is) remember always start with game.000 first! else you will waste a dvdr.

Don't forget I have included the all 3 discs file trees from isobuster for reference
It will not work unless the files are in the right order and the LBAs for the files are
    correct.

    Step 5: Make DVD2

5.1: Replace all files using ISO Edit (Start with a fresh version of all files
    except ORG_IOPRP24D.IMG)

    5.2: Replace XENOSAGA.24 and XENOSAGA.12 dummy files.

5.3: Split XENOSAGA.11 apart, the first part must be 20971520 bytes, the second
part (1052770304 bytes) is not needed

5.4: Split XENOSAGA.13 apart, the first part (663271424 bytes) is not needed, the
second part must be 8531968 bytes

5.4: Join the first part of XENOSAGA.11 (20971520 bytes) and the last part of
XENOSAGA.13 (8531968 bytes) and rename it to XENOSAGA.11
    you can use copy /b [xenosaga.11 piece]+[xenosaga.13 piece] XENOSAGA.11

5.5: Replace the original XENOSAGA.13 with a dummy file

5.5: Reindex LBA table XENOSAGA.10 (Make sure to keep an original of the file
    for the other discs)

    Offset New LBA Value
    EF9 042800
    798 2B2800
    F0D 6F2900
    18EC 792900
    1903 AC2900
    7AB 2C2A00

5.6: Burn the disc using CD-DVDg1.5.

Step 6: Make DVD3 (the hard one)

6.1: Replace all files using ISO Edit (Start with a fresh version of all files
    except ORG_IOPRP24D.IMG)

6.2: Split XENOSAGA.23 apart, the first part (513777664 bytes) is not needed, the
second part must be 559964160 bytes

6.3: Rename the second part of XENOSAGA.23 (559964160 bytes) to XENOSAGA.21

    6.4: Rename XENOSAGA.24 to XENOSAGA.22

6.5: Use dummy files named XENOSAGA.23 and XENOSAGA.24

6.6: Reindex LBA table XENOSAGA.20 (Make sure to keep an original of the file
    for the other discs)

    Have fun.

LastStandin, SN only has torrents of the second 'Saga. Even better if you ask me, that is if you know the japanese language, or happen to be a Xeno-fanboy like me.
