    Default XBox DVD player concern

Somewhere( I can't exactly recall) I read that using the DVD feature on your XBox can damage the laser so you cannot play games well. Is this true?

Could be, i have never seen any proof of that my self, but the more you use the laser the more likely it is to cause errors, due to every day ware.

So playing DVDs shouldn't effect the laser substantially?

According to Xbox magazine it does not cause any damage so there you have straight from the experts. That should settle any doubts you had about it harming your Xbox.

Why use the DVD player on the Xbox anyway, playback is awful. buy dedicated hardware for the best results.
