Firewall help

How do I setup, or even see whatn firewall I have? My download and upload speeds are 26K caliber, and I'm on cable. I'll settle for some telling me how to see what firewall I have, then telling me how to get rid of it. I'd rather have speed than protection right now, because a max of 0.1KB/s is pissing me off!

err... Your firewall should be like.. visible in the system tray? (u know where your clock is and all) But i find it hard to believe that your firewall slows you down to 0.1 kb/s :\

That's the thing, there is no visible firewall, but after downloading and running the Warez P2P program, it configured some firewall and it gets up to 40KB/s, unheardof P2P speeds to me, 8KB/s is the highest I've ever seen before.
