Default HD Loader - backup and play PS2 games without a modchip!

    www.hdloader.com

Wow. This just came out for the PS2. It allows you to use a HD (official or IDE) and back up PS2 in ISO format to it. From what I've read, it boots games directly from the HD, giving you faster load times, and the ability to play backups without a modchip!

All you need is the HD Loader, A network adapter, and a hard drive. A few games don't work though. PS1 games won't work on it either. But still, this is totally amazing. It costs just under 100 for all the parts, too.

From what I heard, you cannot download games and use them with the HD Loader. So either you still have to get a modchip, or just go and rent a game.

Well, that would be because you'd need a modchip to read burnt games.

No shit? Well I was thinking that the HD Loader could maybe bypass the "check tracks" and yada yada... Like a boot disc I mean!

We know that, but that is protection Sony put in. I also heard this. You wouldn't need a modchip since it is software reading the disk not the PS2 (i hope you know what i mean). They just added something to it so it would also check the disk to see if it was copied. They wouldn't have to do that though.

Yeah I understand. They most likely added it to make sure Sony won't sue them or something.

Yep, USD. I know the Adapter is on on sale somewhere for $30, the DVD is $30, and a 80GB Maxtor is around 40, when it's on sale.
