Capcom Crossovers: The Card Game is a free card game that recreates the battles of Capcom's classic fighting games.

All you need is a deck of regular playing cards, the web site, and a friend, and once you learn the rules, you're ready to play.

Each character has stats and their own unique ability which drastically effects their playstyles. For example, a character like Wolverine can hit fast and make longer combos, while a character like Hulk hits hard and is more resistant to damage.

Capcom Crossovers: The Card Game uses a complex, but easy to learn system of combos and counter attacks using number cards for basic attacks and throws, face cards for special moves, and aces for super moves. Each move has its own stats, such as damage, comboability, attack priority, as well as special attributes such as range and homing effects.

Other aspects of Capcom's fighting games are represented in the card game system as well, such as blocking, dodging, tech hits, and a tag team feature.

The design of the card game system allows the rules to be picked up quickly, with players usually knowing all the rules by their 2nd or 3rd game, but at the same time allows a lot of depth and flexibility in the battles, so no one game will ever be the same.

Tag battles also add a whole new dimension to the game, with characters benefitting more from being paired with certain characters than others. Tag battles also allow a max of four players to play the game at once.

We plan on keeping this game going as long as people remain interested in it, and we hope to expand the game beyond the Marvel vs. Capcom series, and make expansion sets for Capcom vs. SNK, the various Street Fighter series, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, and maybe even include Guilty Gear characters eventually with a Sammy vs. Capcom expansion. We will also have "Player's Choice" sets which allow players to vote for characters they want to see in Capcom Crossovers: The Card Game, which will include characters never before seen in a Capcom fighting game.

Our message board community is friendly and always willing to help new players learn the rules, as well as play games over AIM Chats. Also, the forums have boards for rules and strategy discussions, as well as boards to find matches and to give us your input about what you would like to see in future expansions.

If this sounds interesting to you, don't hesitate to post about it on the boards, or IM one of the creators at GambitMvC2 or Spidermeeyan on AIM to get help learning the game and become a part of our ever growing online gaming community. After all, it's free? What do you have to lose?
