Default Have you ever been physically affected by videogames?

Well, we've all heard stories (and by all, I mean me, because I am God and therefore am everyone) of people playing at an Internet Cafe for an entire night, and dying there. We as gamers scoff, and say "Pah!". But is there truth to it?
Me, I have experienced such a thing. My mind has been week from a day in the sun at the beach, then I come back and play Ratchet and Clank 2 for 4 hours straight. I get an attack of the shivers (in 40 degrees celcius weather) and am sick for a day or two.
Today was the same. After 7 hours in front of a screen (Net Cafe, Movies, TV), I started to feel sick. But on the other hand, last holidays I played 13 hours of Xenogears with no change.
    Thoughts?

Nah, although many moons ago I was playing Sonic 2 for so long that my Megadrive packed in and refused to do anything at all after that - indeed, I had to get a replacement one.

When I used to have proper marathon gaming sessions I used to get all the involuntary eye twitches and all that malarkey, the stuff that you should usually 'consult your doctor before continuing playing'. But there you are. I like living life on the edge, me.

    You magnificent bastard!

Oh, right, the topic. No, nothing of the sort has happened to me or anyone I know in person, other than when my fingers started to hurt from playing Killer Instinct too much on my SNES.

Nothing serious, just muscle spasms and eye twitches born from lack of sleep after mammoth gaming sessions. Oh, and bruises etc. from hitting my leg/thigh in exasperation due to console games...

Once I was laying in my bed playing GBA, almost falling asleep and I well, dropped it GBA. It hurt my head. Oh and also, my friends usually hit me when I win over them. Ouch I say.

Burning the palm of my hand from excessive Mario Party mini-games. At least, that's my excuse for it...

I once burned the palm of my hand while playing a mario party game. It was the shy guy game, where you rotate the control stick, to get the thing across the room.

Oh, shouldn't this be in General Gaming?

MAN! The original Mario Party was ultimate death to play. My brother would get his palm way fucked up; bruised and callused just to win those rotating games. That was killer.

Video games really haven't done anything bad to me like that. I guess when I used to get migraines I would want to kill myself if I tried looking at a screen, but other than that, nope.

    Skinner -

Nah, not if it involves personal injury - it deserves all the exposure it can get. Im still hoping on someone actually having a fit, epileptic or otherwise.
