Default PS2 DVD Game Testing on PCSX2

I wanted to test a couple of my PS2 games on PCSX2. Most of my games are DVD-ROM. Everytime I load up a DVD game it takes forever to start the PCSX2 window. Then the emulator freezes and crashes. If I use regular PS2 cd-roms, they boot immediatly. The DVD-ROM's worked fine on my dad's old eMachine, but not on mine. MY computer's only 2 months old. It says on the drive cover, DVD-ROM. And I know most of the games aren't compatible with PCSX2, but the games that worked on my dad's wont work on mine. Thanks!

    Specs:
    Windows XP Home Edition SP1
    2.7GHz Celeron Processor
    48x32x48x16 eMachine DVD/CDR-W Combo Drive
    256 DDR SDRAM
    NVidia e-Geforce 2 MX400 64 MB GFX Card
    40GB HDD
    PCSX2 v0.6
Hope that helps you answer my question!

Wow PS2 emulation has realy started to comealong after i left the emusene.

I dont see any thing wrong with your specs that should cause a problem.

It could be, your drive is not playing nicely with your plugin in PSCX2.
