    Default DVD/CD drives problem

I've been having a strange problem with my 2 drives: one is a lg dvd-rom and the other a sony CD-RW.
the problem is that when I insert a cd it reads it everthing goes ok I take it out a no problem but when I put another CD in the same drive and open it the stuff from the cd that was inside before comes out. I have to take it out and put it in several times for the drive to correctly read the CDor reset my comp.
They are on the same IDE and this problem started a few days ago. I think it started when I was playing around with alcohol virtual drives and daemon tools rmps because I had a problem with a game.

O.K. I don't know the DVD side of the world. try to either:

    1. switch the master/slave
    2. switch the cabling

I'm not sure on this, but try everything, Alcohol is a virtual drive, not physical drive, so it wouldn't screw up your CD-rom. If you can't figure it out, get a new CD-rom/r/rw

First, check if I understand it correctly.....when you put another CD into your drive, and you open the explorer, the same files will be shown as the previous CD...right? If that's the case....I had that problem also with my WinME....I can't remember for sure what I exactly did to sort things up.....Try this, but I don't know if it'll work.
If you want to insert a new CD, close all the explorer window thingy's, until you see the desktop. now eject the old CD and put in the new one (wait until the CD is done with spinning in your drive)....I thought that was the methode that I used back in the good ol' days
I'm just a lurker these days, I feel like an 80 year old gramps, watching his grand children play outside *sigh*
