    Default need help with burned dvd

    how do u make it so it plays in a dvd player. right now the cd only plays in my comp.

    I dont understand your question. How did you burn the DVD, and what do you mean by CD?

    ok i burned south park ep using realone player. and when i tryed to play the dvd in a dvd player it said it had an error. so what i want to kno is how do i make it so it play on a dvd player other than a comps. do i have to put a proggie on so it puts something to make it play on dvd players.

    How did it burn it. When you put it in a computer and look at the file structure if it looks like a normal DVD your DVD player must not be compatible with that kind of disk. What format DVD are you using? + or - and how old is your DVD player?

    i have no idea wat ur talkin about. in realone i jus picked media type then burn. and thats wat i got. as for my dvd player in my comp its about 2 years old.

    o crap i jus saw something. the cd jus works when i put it in my cdr not my dvd drive

    EDIT nvm works in dvd drive

    Did you burn it onto video CD?

    o ok i tihnk i kno wat the prob is. is it that i burned the onto cd-r recordable cds?

    If you burned it on CD then you burned a Video CD. Make sure that your DVD player is compatible with video CDs. I would also make sure that your DVD player is compatible with burnt disks. My brother's DVD player says on it that it will not play Burnt disks at all.

    Ha, I'm surprised you puzzled through this, Josh.

    What is the error your DVD player gives you, if any?

    Since I think you are burning a VideoCD (VCD) instead of a DVD, the movie plays in both your drives since they would read it as an MPEG-1 (Thanks madcrow) file.

    I've seen DVD players that won't read VCDs though, what brand is yours?

    Also, have you tried using other burning programs such as Nero, to see if that makes any difference?

    vcd = mpeg1
    svcd = cheap-@ss mpeg2
    dvd = good mpeg2
