Yeah well, Gamecube already is, as Nitramuse said, in third place. But it would be even worse for GC if two remakes of RE games were released on the PS2. That's for sure.

OH and 100% sure that a PSX emulator will be released for it. Emulation heaven!
How would you get the emulators onto the system? It uses propietry discs that cannot be read or written to on any consumer-available drive. Sony have said that they won't be re-releasing any old games, so I'm assuming that you're referring to a homebrew one.
Personally, after seeing that the PSP is offering graphics nowhere near as good as the PS2 (once again proving that Sony love to overhype their unreleased products), I don't hold up high hopes for it being a Gameboy-beater. Especially as it will no doubt be two or three times the price.
But then I don't hold up high hopes for the DS either. If it had just the one screen, a bigger one too, it could be a success. Shame.
