looking for a product, what is the name and does it exist
a while back, maybe about 6-7 years ago (maybe shorter), there was a show called d2 (digital duo, i think that was the name). anyway, they one time showed this add-on card where if you have one computer, two people can use it at the same time and do two totally different things at the same time(one person can be on the internet, while the other person can be playing games, but both cannot be using the same modem at the same time unless they have two different modem on one machine). so it would be like having two different computers under one machine. btw, each person would need a separate keyboard and mouse. so what is the name of the add-on card and does it exist?

That seems like it would be practicly impossible. You would have to have 2 of everything, but the actual machine. It would split system resources and everything. I don't think it would work that well. Especially 6-7 years ago.

I agree. you can have 3 computers in one with a switcher card, but not on at the same time. The only way you might be able to do it is get a video card that supports two screens and hook another montor to it... and get y cables for the mouse and keyboard... I'm getting a headache already X_x It's not out there that I know of....

I'm sure it's possible, I'm just not sure about the practicalities of it.

That is kinda what I was saying. I just expanded on my idea.

that's the thing, everything does get split by2. <==maybe i should have mentioned that. i remember during the show, the guy says that if you have a very powerful machine, don't let it go to waste..., something like that. i just want to know what the item is.

Let it go to waste? Hah! That thing is just plain silly

go to waste, no way. i think it's pretty cool. imagine having a 3ghz pentium 4 processor and using the add-on card you end up having 2 computers on one machine. how cool is that. anyway, i checked to see if the site still exists and it does. i have emailed them about the add-on and will get back once i have found out what it is.
