Anyway... Uh... I still think it's rather unfair... People who don't post a lot of threads, like me, are getting nothing, while spammers like Skinner8 are reaping in the benefits...

I see the Gil system as an analogy to setting up shops - You put a shop (thread) and people come to buy stuff (post) and you get Gil in exchange... Voting in a poll in exchange for Gil is also similar to a big fat check in exchange for voting for Teh Evil Senator, or something like that... It's fun!

So, getting Gil for posts alone (which was my first thought) doesn't seem like a viable alternative, it's not fun... Though you could give the nth poster in any given thread a bonus, something like: "Hey! You're our nth customer! Congrats! Here's a coupon!"...

Well...? Yay, nay or maybeay...?
