If you play it as a dwarf, history and perception are a facsimile of stonecunning dwarves normally have. As a noble you gain persuasion proficiency which adds to your physical attributes, we all know Minsc is a prototypical ranger with no intellectual capacity to go with his berserker strength and persuading NPCs like him is essential as party leader. Also, as a Ranger Knight wasteland wanderer with poison resistance you gain poison resistance on top of poison resistance dwarves normally have, you gain heavy armour proficiency too and become a Ranger/Fighter in a game without multi-classing as well in addition to Ranger/Fighter being a cheat class not allowed in BG1 or BG2. The reason wisdom is 11 is to be able to cast level 1 ranger spells, that alone is way better than a standard dwarven fighter.

After looking at all the character options I decided on a noble Ranger Knight shield dwarf with poison resistance dwarves normally have, history and perception because of the stonecunning dwarves normally have and persuasion in dialogue is better than a dwarven fighter by far and is good at role playing as well as well as hack and slash sword and board with a Ranger/Fighter.

On a side note, my cat jumped on my keyboard demanding to be fed and typed out awdal at random in lower case so I capitalized it and decided to keep it. Feline random name generator or just as smart as Boo sometimes; I forget and only time will tell.
