Do you have Legacy ISA support enabled (original SB drivers for W2K)?
Have you seen me before?

ok thanks. i had a look for new drivers for this card, but none exist, must have stopped making them in 1978
edit: it never rains but it pours. after pushing 1 Mb down a phone line in less then a min, 2K decides its not gonna play the games at all now. it starts to, loads the command prompt up right, but then dies in the arse and dumps me back at the desktop.

I can't remember 2K ever claiming to provide excellent Dos game compatability.
Best thing you can do is use something like Dosbox, which I see Ace has already provided a link for.

Win2k remaps IRQ table on its own way so (F#@K!)
So dos games wont find it on default IRQs and ports.
I sujjest that youll install DOS 6.22 and be happy with it
(note that your win2k will be working too)

Have you tried using DosBox yet? I've found that it's way easier to run DosBox if you need to run any DOS apps/games in 2k/XP then trying to get your system setup to run them.
