Need for Speed: Underground Vinyls?

I have Need for Speed: Underground for the PC. My friend recently told me you can change color options. For example, in paint, for base paint, you can have gloss, perlecent, and metallic, but pressing the , and . buttons to go forward and back between them. He also said you can change the vinyl colors, instead of white, white and red (lvl 2), or white, red, and black (lvl 3). I tried the , and . but it didn't work, I Tried a lot of key combos, but nothing works. I went to his house and customized a car and changed the vinyl colors too (he has xbox version). I know you can change the vinyl colors on pc version too, because the computer racers have them changed. Am I wrong? How do you change the vinyl color...? thank you in advance.

yeah i know for a fact that you can.. but i have the ps2 version.. go to gamefaqs.com and look for it in the pc section.. it should be pretty easy to find..

The colors should be automatically unlocked while playing through Underground Mode.
As for the Vinyl, I think I remember coloring it with the Square butoon on the PS2 version. But I don't know about the PC version.

Ya, i Know you can do it for x-box and ps2 versions. But i need pc version.

Also when I am at the menu whith the 4 vinyl layers, it says vinyl layer, and under it vinyl color. If i press , and . it moves the layers around.

EDIT: GameFaqs worked. All i had to do is click on vinyl color w/ the mouse -.- That would be obvious...but i am mad that i didn't think of it sooner

i have it for the GC. but for vinyls, you have to pick the vinyl first. hit ok. then yoor back to the screen with the four boxes. pick which vinyl you want to change. bot dont select it, just highlight it, and you should see on the bottom of the screen a button that says change vinyl color. if that doesnt help, go to gamefaqs.com. its a pretty good site for game help but the boards suck big time. buncha idiots there.....

glad to be of any help.. i actually found a PC faq for that game in the PS2 section but it didn't have any of teh keys listed.. only ps2 stuff.. i guess they labeled it wrong..

hey that's handy I don't know how 2 change the vinyl to. I'm going 2 change it wright away( I have it 4 the ps2).

with this game, i do not believe it is possible for players of different consoles (in this case ps2 and PC) to interact with each other online.. the first game to do that is FFXI and it's only on the PC at this time..

hmm but I heard it somewhere, but if you go online you sometime hear people talk about cheating but on the ps2 you can't cheat wright??????????????

on the ps2 you can't cheat in-race.. unlimited nitro codes and free parts codes don't work.. people call pinballers cheaters.. there are alot of different definitions of cheaters.. there are a few codes but all they are, are codes to unlock the tracks..

you're very welcome. for those hat have it for the ps2, the square button is how you change the vinyl color. in case you didn't know. that way you don't have to go to another site to figure out one buton.
