Recently, I added an X-BOX to my console collection. Now, the word goes that you can mod the box without a chip, just overwrite the BIOS....My question is, Is this true? and if it is, where can I get the program to do this.

i haven't heard of anything like that, but www.xbox-scene.com is great for that stuff.... my friends and i are actually planning to mod an xbox with lights and everything soon... check out the gaming section of the animeparadise forums

there is a mpdchip out there that doesnt require any soldering its a plug and play one, link is here, this is the one im getting and i have heard from friends that it works really good.

Why dose everyone insist that xecutor's chips are the best? They are overpriced chips that do exactly the same thing as the other chips... But hey if you want one go ahead and get it, I make more money off them anyways, but if you want to save 20-30 bucks you can buy a aladdin advance chip. Personally I think there better, they have a better on/off switch than xecutor, all you do is hold the reset button for 3 seconds when booting the xbox and its off.... much better than the xecutor's dongle hanging off the side of your xbox in my opinion.

Just dont overtighten that screw, and dont jar your xbox too much and I'll work fine. I've had a few people bring me their boxs cause these fall off and they end up stripping out the screw it needs and it wolent stay put anymore.Originally posted by Dosu
