Default Are TV and Movies Lossing Their Touch?

Does anybody else find that TV and movies are become boring and repetitive?

TV is covered in Reality Programing where someone gets screwed while another profits. What survivor are we at now? 7? Whatever... and now theres a new Average Joe... Oooo... entertainment....

The people who are making movies seem to be running out of ideas. Its all the same crap with a cameo from some rap star in the mix. Sequels and prequels are too abundant. There is speculation of a fourth friggen' terminator... the world can do with out another.

So what do you guys think?

While I agree Reality TV is a lost cause, I don't think there's really any dip in the programming quality because of this, and sequels have been abundant for years. Problem Child? Police Academy? Nightmare On Elm Street? Star Wars? Indian Jones? The Godfather? Superman? Robocop? Friday The 13th? Halloween? You know what I'm talking about...

I hate TV, and it's not necessarily because it's getting worse, simply because I'm tired of it... Films on the other hand... Well I agree with Johnny, shitty sequels aren't exactly a new thing. And just look at all the great films that've been made in the last 3 or 4 years...

Yeah, TV with all the ahem.. 'reality' shit is getting really soggy now. It's more like they're trying to make it non entertaining now, since I can tell you, it sure as hell don't entertain me. Sad to know that awesome shows like Friends etc. are soon going to go off the air... sigh.. memories... but there's still some good stuff out there.
I agree about movies, partly, Hollywood hasn't been putting out much recently, but in India the Bollywood movies that have been coming out recently, excellent! And I'm not talking of special effects, but story lines, script writing, and acting!!

heck I like japanese anime and Battle Royale (bloody great film) im getting battle royale 2 now... hope its a real download (not a faked file).

Reality TV isnt entertaining and turns talentless garbage that are worse than your average person into rich 'celebratees'. Some of them deserve to be shot not rewarded for being a ****wit.
Also I dont see any 'reality' entering that kind of programme.. can you?

knowitman, you are absolutly right. I loved the old shows like rockos modern life, ninja turtles and classic ren and stimpy. But you forgot one of my favorites, Transformers. The old transformer cartoons were awesome... now they have a new transformers anime, which in my oppinion sucks @$$.

I personally detest TV. There are very, very few redeemable features to an entertainment medium which lauds idiot non-enitities such as the Big Brother 'celebrities', or commends the bravery and hardship of Survivor 'contestants'. For every interesting, orginal show there is a hideous counterbalance in the form of one of these 'reality TV shows', a phrase that couldnt be more oxymoronic if it tried. And dont even think about getting me started on that ****ing 'Pop Idol' bollocks.

There are so many more productive activities to participate in rather than watch TV. Like headbutting a chisel. And what the hell is wrong with these people that religiously watch those horribly stereotypical, contrived soaps such as Eastenders or Coronation Street? Muppets. Is their life so shit and boring that they have to watch made up people in a made up town doing made up things for half an hour every bloody day?

TV is good for Football and porn. That is all.

how about tv is mostly shit? I think thats a good sum up!

POP is manufactured and crap enough without these retardede pop idol style programmes and theres a version for fat ladys to try and become famous too whilst making the most awfull and painfull and insulting to the word music noises in a programme called 'OperaTunity'.

I hate I hate goddamn soap operas, especially East Enders, people must have such crap lives that watching the severely OTT and just about worse lives of some make believe cast of morons (who cant act) to make themselves feel better about thier sad lives.

okay so by the end of this Ive lost everyone but nevermind. I refer you to the topic about various personality disorders, thats my excuse.
