Default Why Did You STAY In Emulation (does that sound right)

Why did you choose to stay into emulation, and not just forget about it?

When you found out about emulation, what was the reason why you didn't just forget all about it and go onto something else?

I stayed becuase I knew I would be able to get all those old games which I loved to play

    What about you?

I enjoy fiddling with emulators trying to get them to work better or just plain work through configuring. I enjoy playing all the old games that I never got the chance to when I was younger because I never had a console back then.

I decided to stay mainly because I like to play japanese games that wouldn't otherwise be translated and because my Sega CD got stolen.

This seems kind of the same as why you got into it though...

I have left the scene a few times over the past five or so years, but I came back. I have no reason to leave, expecially now, I have people who share the same love I do, emulation.

haha, I like this formula Ru. I think it also needs to have some knowlage of computers added in there. I know some people who are so dumb they dont know where anything on there pc is if there isnt a desktop shortcut.
Plenty of less intelegent people also cannot even extract an archived file duh!

so yeah the formula needs to be:

too much spare time + some computer knowlage + Free games = emulateer

yes thats right emulateer, we had a thread disgussing this and also another with a poll and emulateer was best.

Im not really into the emulation scene anymore in all honest, I tried downloading a few N64 bits but my control pad is crap, so that disappeared forlornly out of the window. Emulation is just my cover for being a filthy dirty pirate, seeing as I play my PSX games on the real thing. Saying that, I did gain many, many hours of enjoyment from several SNES rpg's - and indeed every now and again pop back just to see what the fuss was all about.

So my reason for being here? Well, considering I mainly post in the F4A - which is rarely concerned with emulation - and so not really considered part of the emu scene. Forums are, effectively, a lazy bastards chat room, which suits me down to the ground.

I've always thought of chat rooms as forums for people who don't like to think before typing. :p

I stayed with emulation because I didn't (And don't) own a SNES due to lack of availability, and my NES hadn't worked well with most of my games for some time.

I'm out of it myself too... Guess I wasn't the gamer I thought I was... Still love videogames but I bore easily now... I stayed because it was free games and I couldn't afford to buy the real ones... It wasn't much other than I wanted to play the games that I played as a kid and I wanted to play some N64 games... So yeah...
