    Default Kazaa Lite Shut Down

You heard it right, the Kazaa Lite K++ project has been shut down by Sharman Networks on grounds of copyright infringement. Quite unfortunate too, Kazaa Lite was a great program for finding music. Well, except for that bit about the RIAA suing people that used it.

Man...That really sucks. It was a great place to find music.

What really gets me mad is that you can find the smae things on both, but Kazaa Lite doesn't have spyware, etc. So why only take down Kazaa lite?

Because Sharman Networks runs Kazaa and the FastTrack network. They don't generate income if people aren't using their client with their banners. So, they sue the competition to ensure people use their client.

Well, I'm still going to use it unless it gets too out of date. Kazzaa doesn't have as many files as emule anyway.

Well, I won't be using their client anymore. BitTorrent will keep me occupied.

EDIT: Xzyx987X : The normal Kazaa has spyware though, and eMule takes forever.

Its sad to see kazzalite shut down. Although I admit I havent used it for almost a year now. It was my first intro to p2p software. All that's left it seems is spyware ridden crap. I've heard good things about dc++ I might go and give that a try.

Okay, guessing by what you said I take it you probably only used the images and video tab on the options, also anything on the internet can be used to get porn such as Direct Connect hubs and web sites, the only way you would actually get porn was if you searched for it or if you dl a movie and it was misnamed to fool someone. I myself used it to check to see if part of the songs that came on a band's new cd where any good.
I also found some roms there once I found a good amount of nes, snes, sega, and very few gba roms but still great none the less. Also it does suck that it closed. Kazaa is full of spyware, but then again I have been using DC for quite a while and forgot about kazaa lol.

Really a shame, but I think I saw it coming. Earlier last month when I tried searching for the K++ project on google, it redirected me to a DMCA page with a petition from Sharman Networks to remove Kazaa Lite from google listings. Basically, the reason why we couldn't find K++ on google.com.
So I guess it had to happen, but they could lay off on the spyware you know, maybe people would use that shit more then..

The funny thing for me about Google being made to remove the results was that they printed the complaint. Which had the sites in question included within it - and if anything made it easier for me to find Kazaa lite distro sites because of it
