I used to watch skating on ESPN a lot. But my fascination waned a little after seeing Tony Hawk pull that 900 for the first time(after which I did my "Dude that was cool!" dance). After that everyone else's moves just bored me.

Going by the review T.H.U.G seems to be a million miles ahead of THPS4.I have THPS4 but haven't played THUG yet.

its just down to opinion, i rented THUG again and completed it on sick mode (with 2 missions left to do) and unlocked all the characters + levels, but the secret characters suck (except T.H.U.D) the extra levels are good but the game was too short, even on hard mode.
But its just wot i think and what the reviews say is just another guys opinion so its not a fact that T.H.U.G is better than TH4.

From what I've experienced, I think THUG is better than THPS4. Really its more of the same but from my eyes the levels are much better, thats really the difference for me. The levels in THUG I reckon are much better in design, there are plenty of spots to get some huge runs from, there are different lines everywhere.

All the Tony Hawks games are amazing. My favourite at the moment is T.H.U.G.

You really can hit some amazing lines in it.

I'm going to buy it today. PS2 or GC? (PS2 I guess, since PSX and PS2 is the machines I've used to play Tony Hawk on)

Well the game is effortless to play using the PS2 pad (makes me realise how unnneccessarily tough it was on the PC using a sidewinder or N64 pad).

Gonna get myself a PS2 to PC adaptor later methinks.

I really don't like skating in the least, but I love the THPS games. Four is probably my second most played game on a next gen system (after SSBM). My brother hired THUG and beat it on easy mode, and it looked cool, so I'll probably buy it. Especially since for some reason, it's 30 bucks cheaper on GCN...

I bought THUG for PS2, and it's an amazing game. Much better than expected, and In Flames is in the soundtrack

Man, the game is awesome! MUST BUY! Though it's a little short, it's great! Nice soundtrack too!

It's pretty hard though, some of those last goals you need to do on the hardest difficulty are proposterous...

now, I only have 3 for Ps2 and THUG. THUG is very nice.. especially because of the off-the-board thing. Its very well balanced, and can provide some extra points rather than doing a bunch of manuals repetetively. And the fact that theres a story behind it... I know nothing about four (lol) so i dunno if it had one. But if you don't have four, its only like $20 now (yeah.. thats right... kill the price when the next comes out) so I may get it eventually. Although its probably cheaper elsewhere than Media Play.
