I wanna set it up that my computer will shut down at a certain time, on a certain day. But if i cant do it for that day just have it everyday, then turn it off. Can this be done?

the only way i know is start>settings>control panel>power options.u can make ur computer hibernate by doing a system standby in this menu or tweak around with the monitor/hard drive selections but i cant think of any other way. btw...this is in win2k pro. i think its the same for xp as well
Yes there are plenty of software based shutdown schedulers. Go to download.com and serach for "shutdown"

Or you could make windows run a .bat file that has the shutdown command in it.
alot of the NTFS systems have trouble running .bat files and other dos based things. But if it will run then dont forget to include a timer command and work out how long it is before you want it to shut down.Originally posted by Kid Buu
