if I download an iso, like say... parasite eve, and I burn it to cd just right, would I be able to play it on a psx or ps2?

Are you talking about a PSX or PS2 with or without a mod chip / bootdisk?

If you have a mod chip then yes assuming the iso is good. If you don't have a mod chip (or action replay or game shark and the like) and don't know how to do the swap trick then absolutely not.

Well like has been said, regardless of how you burn it you won't get a burned PSX game to run on an unmodded console. It simply won't work. A modded console will play burned games as normal.

Well, that's kinda misleading Elin. There are swaps for both the PSOne and PS2 that will allow you to play your backups without a chip.

There are bootdisks for PSX that don't need modchips

Well, then just tell us if you have any of the fallowing: Modchip, gameshark, action replay or bootdisk (downloaded and/or burned copies of boot disks won't work without one of the other items I mentioned). So do you have any of those? If you let us know we can answer your question a lot better.

If you don't then the only other way I know of that you can play a burned (backup) or import PSX game is the swap trick. I think the swap trick works a little different depending on the bios version you have but I'm not sure since I never did it successfully so be sure you know the right version of the swap trick.
