Android boxes.
But what they run now is basically custom kodi.
Changing the OS also meant I could use a different remote, one of the boxes didn't have one. I got these for nothing.

If you're looking for one then you might want to read some stuff on CoreElec first, so you know what chipsets to look for. A lot of the amlogic stuff you should be fine, even if you have to use an older build of CoreElec (aka legacy). SD/micro SD slot means you can boot from SD and leave the original OS intact, so you won't brick from trying to flash a new image to the box. It's fine to try some builds on SD until you find the right one for your hardware that way.

pretty much around $30(or slightly under) on ebay which is my budget give or take a dollar or 2 for tax and shipping.
most everything I've seen is listed as having android 10 on it.

Android 11 stuff is more recent and you'll see prices like $75aud and above. They're pretty much proper 4k boxes with more ram.
