They're just nearly impossible to find over here.
It's simple enough to make one cheaply though using 360 component cable (which is easy to find, I have a bunch of them).

Not as expensive as Gamecube component cable though.

Chopping up the two cables and attaching the 360s wires to the original connector? I had a GC component cable briefly, it wasn't had cheap enough to justify keeping it with how little I use the GC.
