Did you lock them? There's a display on the board which gives you error and post codes.

It looks like the CPU power is connected (make sure it's the CPU pins from the PSU and not PCIe, one or both should be labeled) and you have the CPU fan connected to said header. The memory should be in alternating slots (a1/b1 or a2/b2).

The debug codes from the manual, the debug LED is, as you've probably noticed, on the bottom of the board near the case headers:

I'm getting error code 53 I checked that the memory was seated properly and checked both sticks in all the slots, I know the cpu is installed properly I had to double check it when I first put it in(I thought I put it in wrong the first time) the cpu power is connected properly too.
I think it might be related to my memory the sticker on them does say it's for AMD desktops. I didn't think memory could be cpu specific.

I doubt you installed the CPU wrong. The CPU slot is keyed and it can't be locked unless it's in correctly, if I'm remembering right. There's an arrow/mark on one corner of the CPU and the slot to designate correct alignment. The label on the heat spreader will be upright as well.

Compatibility issues with memory shouldn't be too common but maybe. I'd try clearing the CMOS (there's a button near power/reset and the onboard display) and then maybe one stick at a time and swap them around. My best guess is that it's trying to use the timings from my memory and the sticks won't run at it.

You do need them in the appropriate slots to run in dual channel mode.

    Since it's two sticks:
    [ram] [X] [ram] [X]
    or
    [X] [ram] [X] [ram]

so I've tried all that and I'm still getting code 53.

yeah I didn't see my memory on the list of tested brands so that's gotta be it. I did make sure to push the memory down until it clicked in the slots.
so I'll have to wait till next month to get some new memory then but that's okay everything else appears to be working though I feel like I might have put the hdd indicator led plug on backwards.

The pins should be uniform and it shouldn't matter as long as positive and negative are correct.

    Cracked open Xbox One X.
Tore it down just to pull HDD... not a complete teardown.
Cleaned everything I could access from there (so didn't replace thermal paste). Fair amount of dust inside but wasn't too bad.
Original HDD was faulty so dropped in 2TB Seagate, same specs as original 1TB Seagate but obviously larger capacity.
    Put the console back together.
Setup USB drive with OSU1 files.
Plugged in USB to console, did troubleshooting boot (button combo).
    Did offline update.
    Setup console with my profile.

    Works fine

Original HDD is cactus though, not sure if it's a board failure or a physical issue
