I believe auto-saving is the most common saving method for modern games. I'm not a fan either.

    Both fairly accurate statements tbh.

Might have a PS3 fat (non-BC) for you, Grouch. The CPU I'm going to test should be here sometime this week, it's looking like tomorrow or Wednesday.

the one bad thing(so far) about I am alive is the combat otherwise it's good there's also no zombies, monsters or mutants even though it feels like there should be.

Some games would be quite rough at 480i and you'll definitely want component over composite. If your monitor has DVI or HDMI you could also use that, the former with an adapter.

my tv does have component I run my ps2 through it but i don't know if it's 480. my monitor has dvi but no hdmi which I think is weird considering it was fairly new (and a good brand) when I bought it.

Good. If the CPU can be made stable the platform uses DDR3 so that'd work nicely. You'd probably want to get a decent 16GB kit at some point though.

Easiest way to test would be a game you know can run in progressive scan. Suikoden 4 supports it if you wanted to test. I think you can run uLaunch at 480p (and other resolutions) but I don't remember.

If it's a Sony set there's a lengthy model table on WP:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FD_Trinitron/WEGA

I think only Hi Scan and SFP supported progressive signals.

mine is a sony trinitron 12" I think it might be the KV 13FS100 on that list but I'm not sure. I do have a couple games that have progressive scan but I'm quite certain that my tv doesn't support it I'll check it though.

If your monitor has DVI you can use that with a passive adapter or a cable.
