can you use a different router or are you stuck with one your isp provided that doesn't allow for port forwarding?

I'm fairly certain they've got me shoved behind another NAT at their end. They're supposed to call back but it hasn't happened yet.

I'm disappointed I opened up the "good games" I got, cause they're clearly worth a chunk of change now, and no fun was had. But I had to sate my curiosity, it's why I bought the system. My Fighters Megamix is still sealed, after a couple games I knew it wasn't worth opening

Public holiday so not working today.

Last time I had a day off I fixed up and modded my Saturn.

Now I've pulled apart the SCPH-1180 dual analog controller I got. Right toggle was loose, inside it's just the plastic shaft that is broken the actual toggle mechanism isn't loose.
Going to see if I can tack the small broken piece back on and glue a small sleeve around it for strength.
Alternatively I can look through my junk controller parts bin to see what plastic toggles pair I can substitute... not preferred or ideal as the toggles won't be original and will end up being the wrong grey or even black colour. Plus they won't have the correct looking concave tops. I wonder if Xbox 360 or PS4 toggles would fit the shaft?

I suspect that controller has the standard connector, cause Sony's other analogs are all just the industry standard. So you should be able to fit anything on it, but it won't look right. And clearly you can't find replacements for a non-popular controller, it was hard to find normal PS2 stick replacements a couple years ago.

The shaft for the toggles is smaller than DS, DS2 etc. So yeah going to try a repair first.
It really needs the original plastic thumbsticks anyway.

I did some reading and the pcb for the toggles is different. Not even sure that can be swapped over for a DS type.
It might be possible to solder in some replacement DS toggles though... again, this leads to butchered setup really.

I'll leave all that until after I try a repair of physical damage and test that right toggle, the left still works perfect atm.

An interesting thing is these dual analogs have support for 1 rumble motor (left side).
The Japanese model has the motor while the US and EU models have the motor removed but all circuitry is still there. A motor can be dropped into this one I have but I'd need to pull it from a donor first (I probably have what I need here in the parts bin). Probably won't do it though

I'm just looking at a negcon that needs repair now

Nice deal if you're interested. You'd end up spending about the same on individual enclosures, you'll get additional features if interested, and it's of decent quality. I'd suggest that you don't update DSM if performance is acceptable and you don't plan on exposing it to the internet. I made the mistake of updating my DS211 and disk performance got halved (best case). It seems like Synology doesn't put much consideration into optimizing DSM for the older units .

I don't really need it atm tbh, was just curious if it was a good deal. I think there are physical issues with 2 of the bays but it's apparently 100% functional.
