So the PS5 is $50 off at most locations. Its a bit tempting, but there still aren't really any games I wanna play for it.

You'll probably want to upgrade the SSD.
Digital console is a waste of money (same with XSS).

I'd give it a shot, I'm well aware how quickly I got bored with FF15 (IIRC I made it to the first save point). But I genuinely enjoyed 1, 2, Mystic Quest, 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10, so they really need to work to harm my interest. Definitely piracy to try though.

16 got some damn good scores. Sold 3 million copies in the first week alone.

Of course I don't pay attention to critics and rely more on word of mouth - that being said, a couple of the Discord guys really like it.

I'm going to get the PS5 with the disc drive when and if I get one. With sales tax in my area, even though the disc drive is $450 with the $50 off, the sales tax basically adds back the $50, after I did the sales tax, it went up to $491, so the $50 off kinda is pointless at least when buying in my area.

I believe the disc drive let's you play physical PS4 games. I barely have any digital PSN games, I try to get physical as much as I can. Just another reason for emulation and preserving gaming. It will probably be another 5 years or so before PS4 emulation is at a point that PS3 emulation is.

I dumped the series after 9 . I got through a large chunk of 10, but I ended up dropping it. Tried 12 and 13 and that was enough to permanently write it off.
