Would an Xbox One controller work with most emulators on a PC?
Or would an Xbox 360 controller be best?

Doesn't matter. They're both essentially the same when it comes to the emulator gaming experience.
I wasn't happy to discover that the original wireless Xbox 360 controller needs a different cable in order to be connected to a pc: the charge cable is not good. Just in case you didn't know it either.
You could get a wired controller. Probably cheaper than wireless. PS3 and PS4 and even PS5 work on PC, though you might need to download drivers for PS controllers on PC. Drivers for Xbox 360 and beyond should already be on any modern Windows OS. Say from Windows 7 and onward.
Wired controllers > wireless controllers. You don't have to worry about charging them. Also, kinda ironic that a wireless controller needs a cable to be connected, isn't it?
And yes, they're generally cheaper than wireless ones, too.
Thanks Lefty. I had one wired controller, bought from Gamestop, it was unofficial. The analogic stick had some issues, but overall it worked. Problem is... Lent it to my ex-bf and never gonna see it again.
(the only relief is I'm never gonna see him again either)
I sometimes use the PS4 controller, but it's kinda annoying to disconnect it from the PS, connect it to PC, and then reconnect it back to the PS. And I'm lazy.
You've got a point.
GameSir X2. Best game controller to use with Android emulators overall.
