I think I may have seen them mentioned somewhere in the last 2 years, they currently have some games for freea hand full of 3d realms games(no duke nukem though). is that due to the hitman controversy a while back?

I don't actually bother with that but if I wanted to I could print stuff off.

I haven't heard of that. Any details? Concessions on what I consider intrusive requirements (ie. Galaxy only for certain things), forcibly updating Galaxy, and some staff related things were what pushed me over the edge.

Beat Solatorobo; fun game but controls can be awkward with the DS.

Related to some of my grievances then, thanks. I'd be willing to buy what few games I'm interested in now if developers would ditch the whole platform stupidity and go back to how things were. I know that's a pipe dream .

I don't worry about it too much since I've got dozens of old games to go through .

Online requirement is a problem with some PS4 games too. Some can be patched to access all offline content at least, others simply can't because a heap of work would need to be done sniffing packets and building a custom server. Most of the latter games are cross platform anyway afaik so doubtful anything would ever be done.
GT7 has been patched to play all offline stuff, but saves still don't work atm... not sure if that can be fixed, it was originally going to be an online only game iirc

The push to make everything digital was always going to be a bad idea, but younger people and progressives were always for it.... I don't need to have space for a physical library, stuff can be bought and released sooner and downloading stuff doesn't take long anyway, it's more environmentally friendly, blah blah

Idiots still don't realise what happens if you piss into the wind

B-b-b-b-b-but the greenness and convenience and.... . I think I had some scuffles here many years ago about how digital junk is a bad idea.
