Yeah, errors aside it seemed ok, and Google did find a solution to my main error pretty easily. I should seriously make an effort to use Linux some more, seeing some of the nightmare MS was considering for Win11. It's possible we might eventually need to abandon MS.

With Windows 10 you can disable most of the dumb crap. I assume its the same with Win11. But yeah Windows is always hit and miss. If you like playing games, then using Linux full-time probably isn't feasible. There's dual-booting and I guess the Linux Subsystem.

MS should have just improved upon Windows 7.

Rumors were nonsense like MS would block your BIOS from dual booting, register every hardware serial number to enable MS to ban users and block reuse of all their parts, close off executables from working unless they're from a MS App store. That kind of shit. MS apparently bowed to public pressure and didn't do any of the nightmare stuff, rumoredly. Maybe all bullshit, but somehow almost plausible.

I don't even really game much lately. And I wouldn't be surprised if Steam runs on Linux with a reasonable amount of games running. I'd just like it if Windows didn't suck.

There's a few guys in our Discord who really seem to know their stuff with Linux if you need any future help. Jes sayin.

I didn't have any trouble with Ubuntu 21 though the HW is only 7 years old. I did end up installing a different OS but Ubuntu didn't give me any major trouble while it was on there.

In a sense they've already succeeded with invasive plans if the lame "security" processor (pluton) makes its way into all CPUs (and can't be disabled).

I am as well, though it's a faster kit. I'm thinking about putting something together at some point but it'll probably be next year or maybe a little later. I was going to get something earlier but the deal fell through .

I've been prioritizing other stuff for my home theater anime viewing setup (basically all I watch on it ). All that's left now is waiting on my new screen to arrive and painting a portion of the ceiling and the rest of the visible wall.

Yeah, I think mine's about the same age? I was kinda surprised I couldn't find any usb boot options in my bios, seeing as a build from around 2015 isn't all that old, imo. Perhaps my mobo is just junk.

Yeah I'm hoping to make a new build this year. With DDR4 RAM. I saw there is DDR5, but all that new tech is super expensive.

decided to check out gog.com today as I was looking to see if there was a gog version of command and conquer 2(sadly there isn't) but I did look around a bit and seen some game I liked one of which was blake stone and the aliens of gold. I already have it so I set it up and play it
it's like a worse version of classic wolfenstien yuo move slowly turn slowly and can't hit a target unless it's right in front of you or at the right angle.
