    That's cool.

    In my case, the R2/L2 buttons would get stuck inside the controller and it was impossible to press them properly. There was something wrong with the rubber stuff which worked as a spring. Don't know the specific wording, I'm terribly sorry.

    Luckily, very few games made an extensive use of those buttons.

    I don't remember rubber being much of a problem on controllers. Though on older controllers like SNES, the rubber start and select buttons can get stuck.
