Default Complete newbie not knowing what he's doing at all

Listen. Although I am interested in emulating, I do not need to emulate right now. I need some simple up do date instructions on how to rip the game files from my ps1 and ps2 games to my pc. I tried using imgburn on a ps1 game, but when I pressed 'read' it just sat there and did nothing. It said it was reading but after ten minutes, it still said it had ripped 0% of the game. Help please. Also sorry if this is weird, I'm new.

ImgBurn is what you'll use. Try running the program as administrator and rip it to another destination, such as your desktop if you weren't already doing so. Be a little more patient - maybe the progress bar was incorrect and 10 minutes wasn't enough time to rip the entirety of the disc. Try another game.

One more thing, rip as Bin/CUE and not ISO.

wait, actually the program that came with my dvd player has an image save feature. I'm gonna try that first, since it would be easier and faster.

Chances are ImgBurn is better than whatever program was tossed in for free with a DVD drive.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here
