Cd Player to PS1 Laser

If i were able to take out an old cd player laser and plug it into my ps1 will it run the games? Or will it just read the music files if any.

I don't think it'll work. It got different connectors, most of the time.
But If you find a good one that FITS (only 1mm of distance-differance, can cause errors) it should work. As far as I know, the PS1 just got and ordinary laser, but it must fit. Try to exchange with one of your friends ps1 j/k
