How do you recalibrate the laser.
hmmmm, I read about this at some point. If I remember correctly, you take the playstation apart and there is some screw that you tighten or loosen to make it so that it will be closer or farther from the cd when you put everything back together.
Not sure if I am remembering correctly though so you should do a search for yourself before you take my advise. I found this info in a faq about modchips so you could start searching at sites that sell modchips or offer some kind of support for modchip related stuff.

You could also try one of those lens cleaning kits before doing that, and also, you could try asking some specialized techichian, even if adjusting the PS1 laser is far easier than adjusting the one of the PS2
Me will rock you

With my new Plexwriter I can write them at 24X and they work perfect.
I don't think it does, you see. The PSOne is a double speed drive, and as such may run into problems with skipping on FMV and music as a result. That said, I too have burned games at higher speeds from time to time and had no problems with skipping on either the FMV or the music, so it could also be dependant on the game. Or maybe just a lucky fluke. However, if you burn games at a higher speed and play them on the PS2, you are unlikely to run into any trouble at all...

Do you know if the ps2 laser will get worn out any faster with games burned at higher speeds cyber?
