    Width can be 540 pixels maximum, the height can be anything.

    Sure. Specifically, what's bothering you about it? And to note, I don't do cross-hatching, so if you're into that style, I won't be able to help.

    Mostly I want to know how you got it so smoothly. A lot of my hand-drawn work scanned straight from paper aren't really good (you can tell my hand isn't so steady).

    Well, steadiness helps. The other trick, is if you screw up, open it up in PSP/Photoshop and fix it .

    The other trick is to draw large. 11" x 17" is the standard (I just used two standard pieces of printer paper taped together, I'm too cheap to get expensive artists paper). That makes the lines look sharper once scanned and resized properly, a lot of smaller errors vanish.
